Hiking in Italy Brich Paglie Piedmont Rain & Rainbow Fabulous Outdoors

A beautiful hike in the Alpi Biellesi, the alps surrounding the town of Biella in the Piedmont region of Italy.
This is a perfect area for easy to medium hiking tours, with mountain walks ranging from 1.5 hours to 4/5 hours depending on your fitness level, age and skills. There isn’t any danger or cliffs but you can eventually find some bits of via ferrata in the area if you wish to do so.

The closest airport is Turin Caselle which is about 35km away, otherwise Milan Malpensa, which is at about 150Km east.
Accomodation can be found either in the town of Biella, Ivrea, oer even by the beautiful Lake Viverone which is at about 15Km.

Wildlife photography spotting in the woods Fabulous Outdoors

It’s always a great emotion when a wildife photographer, animal and nature lover bumps into a wild animal in the woods.. occasionally it happens. However if you want to really get into wildlife photography and capture great shots, just wandering around through the woods is not enough.
Hunting is still quite a big thing over here in Europe unfortunately and therefore the animals have become really clever to increase their chances to survive.

Deer in the field - Fabulous Outdoors

Hiding is one of their best characteristics, so you have to be really patient and to train your eyes to spot them through the vegetation.
Another thing to consider is the direction of the wind, even when it’s just a little breeze, you want to make sure you are downwind to the animals if you want to have any chance in capturing them. Their ability of detecting a human being with their smell is way more powerful than ours. If you really want to increase your chances to see animals quite closely, you need to sit still and camouflage yourself through branches and leaves or, even better, to buy appropriate camouflage clothing.

Selle Italia Slr Superflow Bike Saddle Test @fabulousport

After experiencing a lot of pain using a bike saddle that wasn’t good for me, the Selle Italia Monolink, I’ve decided to test another model but still giving a chance to Selle Italia as a brand. This new one to test is the Selle Italia SLR Superflow and it’s shaped with a major cut-out to allow ventilation as you ride. From Selle Italia’ website: “SLR Superflow L. The optimal sitting position on the toughest saddle
The sophistication and strength of the SLR range are combined with the benefits of SuperFlow technology to maximise your riding experience with an optimal saddle position.”
I haven’t used it for too long, but I can already say that it’s a much better design and comfortable saddle to ride, particarly at the moment, been summer and at 30*C the ventilation really helps.

A Cyclist’s Journey – Fabulous Outdoors @fabulousport

People often ask why we ride ..what is it about cycling that at a first look, it seems just a painful long term agony on a bicycle to get nowhere..or something like that. The fact is, it’s hard to explain. At first, it can feel quite daunting, but with patience, it becomes easier and you feel satisfied and proud of what you’ve achieved so far. After your ride, a refreshing shower, a cool drink and a bite to eat and you suddenly feel invigorated and alive, as long as you haven’t done too much of course.

Little by little, your body will do all the adjustments needed to make you perform better, stay out for longer rides and be willing to do more of it. In this short clip, I wanted to pass on some of the feelings, the sounds and the landscapes of a cyclist’s journey. It’s a short clip, part of a bigger documentary project, coming out in future episodes.
