Paola is about to cycle all the Italian Stages of the Giro d’Italia 2018, one day ahead of the official race, to spread road cycling safety awareness all around Italy. See more images here on my FLICKR. She also ride this Giro to remember Alfonsina Strada(16 March 1891 – 13 September 1959) who was an Italian cyclist, and the only woman to have ridden one of cycling’s three major stage races. She started in the Giro d’Italia in 1924 when the organisers mistook her for a man. Newspapers called her The Devil in a dress.[1]  Her racing career included an Italian record which lasted 26 years. She died aged 69 as she propped up her motorcycle after riding to a bicycle race.

I, Fabrizio Malisan @fabulouSport  will be part of her team, where we’ll follow and support Paola Gianotti in her Italian Giro 2018 adventure. Please subscribe to this blog where I’ll give you regular updates on Paola’s progress or press LIKE ON:

White Water Canoe Slalom Italian Championship U23 Ivrea 2018

Whitewater canoeing is the sport of paddling a canoe on a moving body of water, typically a whitewater river. Whitewater canoeing can range from simple, carefree gently moving water, to demanding, dangerous whitewater. River rapids are graded like ski runs according to the difficulty, danger or severity of the rapid. Whitewater grades (or classes) range from I or 1 (the easiest) to VI or 6 (the most difficult/dangerous). Grade/Class I can be described as slightly moving water with ripples. Grade/Class VI can be described as severe or almost unrunnable whitewater, such as Niagara Falls.

IVREA U23 ITALIAN WHITE WATER CANOE SLALOM CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018

At the request of the Ivrea Canoe and Kayak Club, Hydrostadium accepted an expertise mission in the beginning of 2007. The aim of this expertise was the optimization of the last third of the course with a view to the organization of the World Cup Sprinting in June 2007.

It’s Spring your favourite season to shoot landscapes? Fabulous Outdoors

It’s been a very temperamental winter over the European Alps, lots of snow has fallen, followed by rapid temperature change. Suddenly Spring arrives with it’s beautiful clear skies, white clouds blown by the wind over the mountains, stunning sunrises and sunsets to be photographed.
It’s definitely my favourite season to shoot landscapes, but I also love Spring for the awakening of nature. Birds happily singing and busy flying to feed their little ones calling for food from their nest and other animals running around with their new borns. Sunrises and sunsets are pretty good to be captured all year round indeed, but in the Alps or in their proximity, you can still get the snow on the peaks in contrast with the green landscape at a lower altitude. At the same time, you don’t have to freeze yourself as you do in wintertime going up before the sunrise to set your gear for the shoot.

For this particular shoot, we were out for one of my photo-walks around the lakes as the sun was about to set creating these beautiful reflections in the water.

How to fix compact cameras lens curtain problem DIY cover

How to fix compact cameras lens curtain problem DIY cover by Fabulous Outdoor Photography

It’s a great little camera, to take it with you everywhere, and it produce good quality images. Get one on Amazon, see the latest deals here: https://goo.gl/8ZvLlH

Hello viewers. I’ve got this little camera, the Canon Powershot SX720HS, which is a pocket camera that I love, because I can take it with me on on all my outdoors activities however, I have never particularly liked this lens cover curtain that most pocket cameras have as I thought I was going to break it..

and in fact I did break it, and so I came up with a D.I.Y., solution.

I measured the outside of the lens, which is 55mm and I went to find a jar lid, and I found this one, pretty much of the same size, and I micro-adjusted with a tin-can opener to make it a snug fit.

You can make it as snug as you want, easy to take it on and off when you want to take a photo, and this way the camera lens is much more protected. I can put it in my pocket, without worrying, it can get hit without breaking anything anymore. So, just a quick tip for today’s video, I hope you like it and find it useful, because maybe this has happened to you as well. A beautiful powder skiing day Gopro Hero 6 Black skiing handheld stabilization test Fabulous Ski Tips

A beautiful powder skiing day Gopro Hero 6 Black skiing handheld stabilization test.     CLICK HERE TO GET YOURS ON AMAZON https://goo.gl/Vpvm11                                        The stabilization system of the Gopro Hero 6 Black does a pretty good job whilst powder skiing handheld, even better than the Gopro Hero 5 Black which was already pretty good. A fresh snow has fallen overnight at the end of March, makes a great opportunity to learn, practice and/or to improve your powder skiing technique. The Gopro is a great little camera, a fantastic tool to have in your ski jacket pocket and use it here and there to capture some great footage of your favourite action sport outdoors. I like to just handheld it as that gives me the flexibility of moving it and position it in every angle and direction quickly, which i wouldn’t be able to do if it was mounted on the ski helmet for example. The Gopro Hero 6 Black has this new zoom feature which allows to be a bit more far apart from your subject and still getting it to fill the frame. I like to use the Linear mode most of the times, then switching to a wide angle view when shooting an expansive landscape. The audio from the inbuilt microphone seems to have improved from the previous Gopro’s ..even from the Hero 5 black The battery life also seems to have improved as well, I could shoot all day out skiing without running out of power. I do however only turn it on to get the clip i want, then turn it off and I put it back in the pocket. Using it this way compared to having it mounted all day on the helmet helps to increase the battery life.

This video was all captured in 1080p at 60fps and no color grading or post processing done, it’s all footage straight out of the camera. Rose Bikes Unboxing Bicycle Test Ride Road Bike Review by @fabulousport

Rose Bikes is an online website-based cycling shop from Germany.
The philosophy of the company is to provide a great ‘value for money’ service, good quality bicycles and components at a more affordable price than the competitors.
This is a personal honest experience as a customer. The service has been fantastic, the bike’s arrived exactly within the 3 weeks from when the order was placed on the Rose-Bikes website: http://www.rosebikes.com

The bicycles are very well packaged for delivery, in a thick padded carton box. Bike assembly is very easy, you only need to straighten the handlebars, fit the seat-post and saddle, adjust in it to your height, put the skewer in the front wheel and attach it to the front fork, add pedals ..and that’s it, you’re good to go out riding your new bike.

Fresh snow on the mountain peaks time lapse Fabulous Outdoors Photography & filmmaking tutorials

A 1 minute time lapse with the wind blowing clouds and snow over the mountains Fresh snow on the mountain peaks by Fabulous Outdoors @fabulousport

Music Credits: “Fresh Fallen Snow” by Chris Haugen
Film recorded with Canon 6D
Canon 70-200mm f/4 lens
Manfrotto Tripod
Filmed in 1080p HD at 25fps then speeded up in post production, which is the simpler way to film and to record a time lapse video.
Time lapse is amongst the coolest filmmaking techniques, speeding up things that we are used to see going slow, giving a visually interesting and pleasant viewing experience. Adding a nice relaxing music and atmospheric sounds implements the power of the video footage.

Snow on the mountain peaks
Another way to create a time lapse video, for better quality and definition, is to capture multiple images a few seconds apart, then upload them all to the computer and adjust all the exposures and settings. After all that’s done, upload the images in windows movie maker, adobe premiere pro or other filmaking programs, and play them at the desired speed.
