Cycling Tour Vlog: Rosazza Valle Cervo to Oropa Sanctuary Biella Piedmont Italy @fabulousport

The Biellese region is a fabulous land for cycling, offering several quiet roads to ride. Cycling is a great way to explore and discover these beautiful landscapes of the northern Piedmont region of Italy.
In this video I’m showing you a great climb, with quite a challenging gradient, reaching about 15%, but very rewarding and panoramic.

The climb begins once passed Biella, a lovely ride up through the Valle Cervo which is a valley that feels like time has stood still. The ride is very pleasant surrounded by very beautiful characteristic houses and picturesque villages along the river. Just before you get to the town of Rosazza, there’s a left turn on a bridge, then left again towards San Giovanni and Galleria di Rosazza, the tunnel that leads to Oropa on the other side of the mountain. However, whilst you are there, I recommend you cycle all the way to the end of the Cervo Valley, to visit Rosazza and Piedicavallo, both really interesting little villages.

It’s always more exciting to cycle up a hill from one side and descend the other side, as it really feels like travelling further.

The Sanctuary of Oropa has hosted a few Giro d’Italia stage finishes. It’s a great road to climb from the town of Biella, winding it’s way up to the Sanctuary.

CYCLING in NO MATTER WHAT – @fabulousport

Cycling no matter what.. regardless of the weather, the rain and the cold.
The “problem” of cycling is that it’s quite addictive.. the more you do it, the more you feel like doing it.. so even if you are a fair weather rider like myself, eventually the need to go out on your bike becomes stronger than the lazy part of yourself, trying to find any excuse to stay in and relax on the couch, in front of the TV.
I make these type of videos with the aim to encourage people to get out more, to go outdoors and enjoy outdoor activities. If you are a fan of football, rugby or a favourite tv program, you can always record it and watch it when you come back after your outdoor activity. I know it may not be the same as watching it live, but as long as you don’t hear about the score of the match..it’ll still be exciting to watch, or find the time to get outdoors before or after!!
My wife Emma, here in the video, never cycled before we met, so if anyone’s interested in this topic, I’ll produce a video explaining how I got her to this level of cycling, so that we can enjoy doing outdoor activities together as a couple. Some people maybe prefer keeping their own hobbies or sports for themselves, or maybe they’ve tried to teach their partners without success, so I’ll explain ang give a few tips in how to get your partner into cycling, learning from the beginning, first easy rides, up to a good level of skills and fitness that enables enjoying great days out on a bicycle.
Thank you for watching and reading, you’re welcome to LIKE, Share the video and to SUBSCRIBE to the youtube channel Fabulous Sport Outdoors.

Cycling Tour through Veneto Italy

Landscape of Prosecco Wine Vineyards Rolle Treviso Veneto Italy

A cycling tour is one of the best ways to explore and discover the beauty of a region or Country. As you probably know, I’m a cycling tour consultant and photographer with a good knowledge of most touristic locations all over Europe, specialising in Italy and France. I now live in London, but it’s always a great pleasure for me to go back to Italy, to assist tourists in their trip making sure they have a memorable travel experience.

Looking at Italy through the eyes of a tourist, makes me realise how beautiful it is and how much it has to offer in terms of stunning landscapes, historical cities and architecture, and of course the delicious food and wine.

On this particular cycling tour, we took a group of keen cyclists to discover the region of Veneto, starting from Venice and ending in Verona.

Cycling tour in the Dolomites

There are many beautiful places to go for a cycling tour, but you’d have to pick one only, I highly recommend you the Dolomites.

Cycling up the Passo Campolongo – Corvara Alta Badia

The scenery is simply stunning, with open valleys surrounded by rocky mountain peaks. A snake of tarmac to ride your bike on, always well maintained for the annual cycling event, the Maratona dles Dolomites.  We stay in Corvara Alta Badia, main centre of the event with easy access to all the surrounding roads to cycle on.

The beautiful Corvara in Alta Val Badia Dolomites

There are many mountain passes to choose from, going from a 3/4% gradient, up to 15% in places, perfect terrain to test your fitness and skills level.

Cycling Passo Fedaia Marmolada Dolomites

Our group is organised by La Fuga Travel cycling tour company, stays in the area for the whole week leading up to the Maratona event, to get used to the altitude, to familiarise  with the roads and to get ready for the big cycling day ahead.

Cycling Tour Emilia Romagna

We’ve cycled all the way across Italy, from Tuscany to Emilia Romagna. This is Bagno di Romagna, our final destination of the day.

It’s a lovely little town surrounded by woodland hills, very popular for the health benefits of it’s thermal waters. The Hotel Tosco Romagnolo is a family run 4**** hotel in the centre town, with it’s own thermal pool situated on the roof terrace overlooking the town.

The Hotel Tosco Romagnolo is also a Bike-Hotel, so it has all the facilities and the services that us  cyclists need.

The territory is very hilly and that’s why it’s so appealing to the keen cyclists. See the profile here below:

As we are in Emilia Romagna Tourism, the food goes without saying, it’s another region where the pride of their local specialities together with providing a great tourists experience excels. It’s own by the Teverini family, also known as Passione Teverini, with the owner Paolo being a masterchef. The very kind lady owner came to welcome us with a delicious aperitif selection, explaining all about the food and the history of her own house, which is now the hotel.

Therefore all it was left for us to do was to rest our legs and to raise our glasses to toast today’s cycling achievements.

Thank you for passing by and reading this post and, if you liked it, stay tuned for more to come. No matter where you are, keep your tourist-eyes open and #GetOutMore as  it’s Fabulous Outdoors

If you’re interested in taking part in one of these fabulous cycling tours, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Paris-Roubaix 2015 Cycling Classic @fabulousport

Paris Roubaix 2015 Cycling Classic Tours La Fuga Travel by @fabulouSport http://www.fabulousport.co.uk With this cycling tour we went to ride the cycling sportive Paris-Roubaix-Challenge and stayed to watch the pro race the following day. A great experience for the amateurs, riding the cobbles in wet conditions was a real challenge, then a beautiful sunny day for the professional cyclists which was also good to watch it properly and to take videos and photos.

Photography of the event will be added soon! See some images of the events on Flickr: https://flickr.com/photos/124113675@N03/sets/72157649643164514
