Coombe Wood is a small woodland and garden area in the old village of Coombe, Upper Shirley, in the London Borough of Croydon near the junction of Coombe Lane and Conduit Lane. The Coombe Wood Gardens are divided into a series of rooms which together give an all year round display of shrubs and plants set against a backdrop of mature woodland.
We were really impressed by the size and the density of this woodland, a walk through the park with it’s undulating hills and steps, it’s quite a physical exercise.
Coombe Wood Park is open until quite late in the day, so it’s possible to pay a visit on the way back from work.
We would have never expected to be so big and beautiful, very well maintained and delicious cakes, tea and coffe too. It’s really Worth a visit and ..we’ll be back!
I love springtime, it’s full of colour with the flowers and fields springing into life.
This was one of my journeys cycling to explore and discover the British countryside, where I also spotted this beautiful thatched roof cottage.
