Best Vlogging Camera Setup 2018 Photography Filming Beginner Tips

There are a lot of cameras on the market, so it’s difficult to say which one is the best vlogging camera setup in 2018. All camera manufacturers could produce the perfect digital camera for vlogging, for Youtube, for filming, videomaking and so on.. ..But they won’t!

It’s a challenge trying to find what works best for you, which are your priorities when buying a new camera, and how you going to create your own setup for vlogging, for producing videos for Youtube or for your photography and filming projects.
If you already own a decent camera, try to see if you can create a DIY solution to compensate the lack of a specific function prior to get frustrated and keep searching the market for that best camera that actually, does not exist.

Fresh snow on the mountain peaks time lapse Fabulous Outdoors Photography & filmmaking tutorials

A 1 minute time lapse with the wind blowing clouds and snow over the mountains Fresh snow on the mountain peaks by Fabulous Outdoors @fabulousport

Music Credits: “Fresh Fallen Snow” by Chris Haugen
Film recorded with Canon 6D
Canon 70-200mm f/4 lens
Manfrotto Tripod
Filmed in 1080p HD at 25fps then speeded up in post production, which is the simpler way to film and to record a time lapse video.
Time lapse is amongst the coolest filmmaking techniques, speeding up things that we are used to see going slow, giving a visually interesting and pleasant viewing experience. Adding a nice relaxing music and atmospheric sounds implements the power of the video footage.

Another way to create a time lapse video, for better quality and definition, is to capture multiple images a few seconds apart, then upload them all to the computer and adjust all the exposures and settings. After all that’s done, upload the images in windows movie maker, adobe premiere pro or other filmaking programs, and play them at the desired speed.

How to create motion blur effect in the water – Photography Tutorial Tips – Fabulous Outdoors

I’ve been asked through messages from followers and amateur/beginner photographers, this question:

How to create motion blur effect in the water?
A couple of years back, I made this video in which I was explaining exactly that topic, here it is:

First of all, you need a camera that enables you to SET IT TO MANUAL
Then you need a TRIPOD or otherwise you could also put your camera on the ground or on a rock by the river.

After that, it all depends about the time of day, the amount of light available, the amount of blur that you want to get.. all these details are the variables that will affect how your image will come out.

You now need to set your camera to a SLOW SHUTTER SPEED, so that you allow the camera sensor to capture light for a longer period o time. In this way, that water will result blurred but everything else in the image will stay nice and sharp. If it’s a bright day, you have to consider using a FILTER so that it’ll hold the light back and you won’t end up with an over-exposed (too bright) image. With all this said, the best thing is to go out and practice, and see the results you’ll be getting. If you require more information, don’t esitate to do so by leaving a comment here below, or to contact me via the contact form/email.

Have fun with your camera, happy shooting and ..GOOD LUCK!

Canon 70D Review Video Tutorial – Fabulous Outdoor Photography

Photography Tips for beginners – Which dslr camera to choose?

On this occasion, I’ve tested the Canon 70D.

Whether you are a beginner, an advanced photographer or one willing to become a better photographer, the Canon 70D is a great compromise. It’s an APS-c crop sensor, but the image quality is pretty good and you get the advantage of reaching further compared to full frame cameras. That’s a plus if you’re willing to do some Wildlife photography or Sports Photography. As mentioned in the video, most very helpful and useful features aren’t included in the more professional Canon range ( as to this date, April 2016 ). The new released Canon 80D has got of course a few improvements, but being a newer camera, you’ll pay the novelty price.

Our dog Kikka is an Australian Shepherd who was abandoned in the woodlands of northern Italy, it took a while to gain her trust, but now as you can see in the video below, she follows me happily everywhere.

Filmed with Canon dslr and a combination of lenses, the Canon 50mm f/1.4 the Tokina 11-16mm and the Canon 70-200 F/4 using wide aperture to brighten the low light situation in the woods, and to keep the enphasis on the subjects filmed. I also used my favorite Manfrotto tripod to keep the images nice and steady. I hope you enjoyed the video and found it useful.
