Kikka is a lovely Australian Shepherd Dog who’s been mal treated and abandoned in the woods, but luckily she’s found our family and we’ve rescued her.
It took a long time to gain her trust and confidence, but now, after a couple of years, the dog is happy and loves our time outdoors exploring the beautiful Serra Morenica woodland hill in Northern Italy.
Situated in between Biella, Lake Viverone, Ivrea in Piedmont Piemonte. (Type ‘Serra Morenica’ in our search box up here on the right, you’ll see more post and our images about this beautiful woodland area and surroundings)
Life can change for the better. Give maltreated animals a chance, if you can ..rescue one too!

As the winter hasn’t really kicked off just yet, although it’s mid-December, it’s a great opportunity to go and explore the mountains in different ways.
..such as mountain walks. This particular walk shown in the photographs, is in the Aosta valley of Italy and it can be done in an afternoon. You could ski in Cervinia and Zermatt in the morning, then go for this walk afterwards.
The Valtournenche, valley of Cervinia, offers many different walks to do, from short and easy to longer and more challenging ones.
The Cervino Matterhorn mountain peak is in sight most of the time as you walk, and it’s always a stunning view.
Walk towards the Mont Tantané, another 2700 metre mountain peak where you will get an outstanding landscape view of the valley below and of the surrounding alps of the Aosta valley.
There are many good view points to have a sit down and a bite to eat and also picnic areas with wooden made benches and tables as in the photo here below.
As the sun’s setting over the Mont Tantané, I hope you enjoyed reading this post and the photographs, thank you for passing by, and remember to #GetOutMore as it’s
This Regency house was extensively remodelled in 1906 by Margaret Greville, a well-known Edwardian hostess. Her collection of fine paintings, furniture, porcelain and silver is displayed in the reception rooms and galleries, as it was at the time of her celebrated house parties.
It also refers to its grounds of 1,400 acres (5.6 square kilometres) including a walled rose garden, lawns, ancient woodland and landscape walks.
Another beautiful place to go for a peaceful long walk amongst nature. Get out more as it’s Fabulous Outdoors
The mushroom season is basically over in November but as the weather has been particularly mild all over Europe, nature gets confused whether to hibernate or to keep producing it’s gifts.
In fact, on a walk through the woods we bumped into a few mushrooms, most of which aren’t edible, but some like these two big ones are ready to be picked and prepared into a natural and substantial meal.. maybe to accompany a polenta.
Any excuse to get out amongst nature rather than sitting on a couch watching TV is great and it’s very good for us all. Get out more as it’s
It’s nearly mid-November and as usual this is a particularly warm week, in fact it’s called “Estate di San Martino” (San Martino’s summer). It’s the last heat wave prior to the upcoming winter. The weather is very mild during the daytime, although come the evening and overnight, the temperature drops to low single digits.
In this article I’m showing you a beautiful easy to medium difficulty walk of about 5hrs all together. We are in the Piemonte region, 45min north of Turin airport there’s the town of Ivrea from which you can see the Serra Morenica hill with the Mombarone peak at the top. This walks can be done from several starting points, although this one showed here it starts from San Giacomo above the village of Andrate.
It’s an amazing walk full of scenery starting from woodlands that open up to a vaster, open panoramic space that overlooks the surrounding landscape below. On a day with clear, blue skies you can see as far as Turin and beyond, with all the surrounding mountain range and the highest peaks of the European Alps.
It’s a fantastic day out that doesn’t require a very high level of fitness and that I recommend to everyone. If you want to know more and need more information, don’t hesitate to contact: fabulouSport @ gmail com.
